Everyone stays inside when it rains. Baseball games get called because of rain and picnics get ruined. But here’s the secret– go out and take a walk in the forest the second the rain stops. That’s when everything’s wet and the ground is a little spongy. When the sun comes out though and it shines through the trees and water vapor starts to evaporate off the sidewalk in that mysterious way it does. There’s nothing quite like that smell, when the air is humid and the leaves and earth are saturated, and the sun is just starting to warm everything up. It’s woody, floral, earthy flavor with a magic-sounding name– “petrichor.” We have done our best to bring some of that unique after-the-rain to something you can bring inside with you. The best part of all? You can leave your coat in the closet.
